Thank you and farewell

We would like to thank all of our many customers, who have supported The Seafood Restaurant over its 39 year run. All, of course, are special to us. However, some are particularly memorable…

Some customers have been with us since the beginning. Brought to see us by their parents, in later years they grew up and brought their own children and even their children’s children. We have been privileged to serve three, or even four generations of families!

And then there have been the movie stars, sports personalities, stars of stage and screen, royalty and even one of the first astronauts to land on the moon. Often, they slipped in and out of the town by way of our restaurant, without anyone knowing they were ever here! We have many, many wonderful memories of the great times we had.

Now it is time for that chapter of all our lives to close and for new chapters to open. We are looking forward to working on the projects that we have been planning for many years, as well as the delights of new, unexpected opportunities.

To everyone whom we have had the pleasure to serve over the years we wish you peace, joy and prosperity and hope our paths may one day cross once more. Thanks again for your custom, friendship and loyalty.

Au revoir

The Quay is in the quality…

Here at The Seafood Restaurant, our many years of experience mean that we are able to choose the freshest and the highest quality fish available. This ensures that whilst dining in our friendly and atmospheric establishment you are guaranteed a meal worthy of our fine reputation.

As a family business, we take pride in the food and experience we offer. We’ve been running The Seafood for many years. During that time we’ve learnt what our customers like and work hard to deliver just that. Miriam’s knowledge as a nutritionist means that we can cater for celiacs and other dietary requirements.

All the fish served at the Seafood Restaurant is fresh. Where possible, we will always use local fish – and we’ve used the same local fishmonger for over 30 years, so we know what we’re getting! As a result our menu is always changing and the fish dishes move with the seasons.

Here are just a few reviews from some of our satisfied customers…

On the Great Yarmouth North Quay lives a fish restaurant, a veritable jewel in East Anglia’s gourmet crown, and one that at least partly accounts for the race-day tactics of trainers who bring their horses from Newmarket, 70-odd miles to the west.

Lobster, scallops, Dover sole, turbot, moules, you name it, they are all there, served thoughtfully by Chris and Miriam Kikis, the proprietors, to an appreciative crowd that grows markedly when the races are on.

I have long wanted to visit The Seafood Restaurant at Great Yarmouth under the ownership of Chris and Miriam Kikis…

A successful double act, the couple have been running the well-appointed restaurant – which is up there among the best Michelin Guide Recommended and Good Food Guide Recommended – for the past 32 years…

The restaurant – well patronised by leading lights of the turf, as well as star names from the wonderful world of entertainment – enjoys a solid reputation. It is widely renowned for serving the best and freshest North Sea fish and shellfish…

What a treat it turned out to be. I can’t wait until next time!

Places & Faces

National Seafood Week takes place every year, in October – a time when top chefs around the country turn their hands to dishes that celebrate the country’s seafood industry.

However, for one Norfolk couple, seafood is more of a way of life than a week-long special event.

Chris and Miriam Kikis have been cooking and serving fish for 28 years, having established the county’s first fish restaurant in Great Yarmouth.
